Aino Lutter

stop no. 11
Aino Letter is a Hudson Québec based artist who is a guest at Saskia Praamsma’s Clayton Clayworks Studio. A professional painter with years of experience, this is Lutter’s first time participating in the tour.
“Every morning as i sit and sip my tea, I look out the window and feel such a delight in watching the burgeoning wildlife in my front yard. It began as an experiment in returning parts of my garden to a state of nature, and well before I read ‘Wilding” by Isabella Tree, about an English estate, where the lands, depleted my modern farming methods, were restored by allowing a return to a wilder state of nature.
Aino’s own property is but a bare reflection compared to what happened on the large estate where there was even a reappearance of birds on the verge of extinction. With a return to nature on her property she began to observe a greater variety of birds and small furry creatures. She developed such an interest they began creeping into her painting and she felt the need to record their existence and paint a testament to the wonders .at nature freely offers when allowed to just let it be.
